What we built.
For Importin’ Joe’s, we digitized his B2B (Business-to-Business) and B2C (Business-to-Customer) product sales by building a wholesale portal to provide Joe with a more standardized way of selling to retailers. Before the portal, Joe’s clients would reach out to him in many ways, like calling or texting, and Joe would have to manage following up on payments manually. Now, with the portal, retailers interested in selling Importin’ Joe’s Ethiopian Coffee can log into the portal and purchase their orders. We streamlined and automated a process previously done with much manual effort. As a business owner, this frees Joseph up to continue focusing on running the other aspects of his business.

Joseph told us that if it hadn’t been for this grant, he would still be trying to figure out how he would create a wholesale portal. His goal is to capture 300 small retail accounts; a portal is essential to his business. Without the grant, he would’ve had to delay his business goals.
